Overview
What it is
Hybrid arch repair combines open “debranching” of the arch vessels with an endovascular stent-graft. It treats aneurysms or dissections of the aortic arch while preserving blood flow to the brain and arms, often for patients who are not ideal candidates for a fully open arch operation.

When hybrid arch repair is used
Hybrid arch repair combines a smaller open operation to reroute (debranch) the vessels to the brain and arms with a stent-graft placed inside the aorta. It is chosen by a dedicated aortic team for patients who are not ideal candidates for either fully open or fully endovascular repair alone.
