Thoracic Aorta & Aortic Arch
3-Vessel Custom-Made Arch Repair
A patient-specific arch graft with branches to all three great vessels.

Overview
What it is
This is a manufactured, patient-specific arch stent-graft with branches to all three great vessels, individualized to the patient’s anatomy for total endovascular arch reconstruction — an advanced option for suitable patients with arch aneurysms.
When it’s recommended
- Arch aneurysm with anatomy suited to a custom device
- Patients seeking total endovascular arch repair
- Cases where time allows custom device manufacturing
How it’s performed
Every plan is individualized and reviewed by our multidisciplinary aortic team.
Precise imaging to manufacture a patient-specific graft
Endovascular delivery of the branched arch device
Each great vessel branch is stented
Imaging confirms the reconstruction
Recovery
Recovery & follow-up
A minimally invasive recovery for a complex problem, with structured lifelong surveillance.

Endovascular options for the aortic arch
The aortic arch — where the vessels to the brain and arms branch off — is the most complex part of the aorta to treat. Repair may be open, hybrid, or fully endovascular (through the arteries), and the right approach is chosen by a dedicated aortic team, ideally at a high-volume specialized center.

Mortality — post-dissection branched arch
Tenorio et al., J Vasc Surg 2020
Dr. Oderich’s team reported the first total-transfemoral 3-vessel inner-branch arch repair (JACC Case Reports, 2022). Figures reflect published multicenter series and registries — not a promise of individual results, which vary with each patient’s anatomy and overall health.
Why the Baylor Medicine Center for Aortic Surgery
Complex aortic care is safest in experienced hands. Dr. Oderich and the Center bring more than 7,000 open and endovascular aortic repairs of experience, advanced imaging, and a multidisciplinary team to every case.
